GOLF - Lee Westwood has come uith a novel excuse for missing the cut at the Abu Dhabi Championship after claiming his golf clubs felt like fishing rods. Westwood openly questioned whether or not his equipment supplier, Ping, had fitted all his clubs with wrong shafts, or indeed fitted the clubs with fishing rods. "I will probably get a new set sent out and reshaft the lot over the weekend to see if that does any good. They just feel like fishing rods," the world number 4 Westwood claimed.Westwood had finihed 2009 in good form. He had won the season-ending Dubai World Championship in November, as well as finishing first in the overall European Tour money list.
