Mayweather And Pacquiao Call In Mediator To Help Save Megafight

BOXING - Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr have resorted to bringing in a mediator in order to save their proposed March 13 showdown. The super-fight had appeared to have fallen through after Maywether's camp demanded that Pacquiao had regular blood tests in order to prove that Pacquiao was not using performance-enhancing drugs, which led to Pacquiao starting legal proceedings against Mayweather. However, both camps will now use retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein as a mediator in a bid to ensure the fight will still go ahead.

The insistence by the Mayweather team that Pacquiao undergoes a series of blood tests jeopardises a fight that had agreed on just about everything else ranging from how the purse will be split to the wight and type of gloves to be used.

Of course, the whole drug-testing episode has helped promote further an already highly-anticipated showdown. We are sure the fight will still go ahead as planned.
